Privacy policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026. This policy explains how we handle personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

This service (the "GDA public-data portal") is operated by Twin Scroll Grid Balancer ("we", "us"), the data controller. Questions about your data: [email protected].

What we collect

• Account data — the email address you register with, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
• Your questions and their results — the natural-language queries you run and the data they produce. These are stored against your account and also published in the public library (see below).
• Plan & usage data — which access plan you are on, any bonus allowance granted to you, and counts of the queries you run (used to enforce fair daily/monthly limits).
• Consent records — a timestamped record that you accepted these terms when you registered, kept as evidence of lawful basis.
• Basic technical data — the minimum needed to operate the site securely (e.g. session cookies). We do not use advertising or third-party analytics/tracking cookies.

The portal is currently free and we do not collect payment or financial data. If paid plans are introduced later, card payments will be handled entirely by a third-party payment processor (Stripe) — we would store only a customer/subscription reference, never your card details.

The public library

Completed questions and their downloadable results are shown publicly in the library so others can reuse an answer rather than paying to re-run it. This is always anonymised: your identity is never shown, and no query is ever attributed to a user publicly. Please avoid putting personal or sensitive information into a question, as the question text forms part of that public record.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

• Contract — to create your account and provide the service you asked for.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, control cost, and build the public library of answers.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept until you delete your account. When you delete your account, your identity is removed and your past questions are severed from you — they may remain in the anonymised public library, but nothing links them back to you.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and an anti-forgery cookie to protect forms. These are required for the site to function and carry no tracking. There are no analytics or marketing cookies. See our full cookie policy for details.

One sign-in across our sites

Your account is shared across the Twin Scroll Grid Balancer family of sites, so a single sign-in works on all of them. One consequence matters for your rights: deleting your account removes your login everywhere, not just from the GDA portal. We tell you this again at the point of deletion.

Where your data is held

The service runs on managed server infrastructure provided by OVH. Data may be processed on servers located outside the UK/EEA; where that is the case, appropriate safeguards apply.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing. You can exercise the main ones yourself:

• Access / portability — download everything we hold about you as JSON from Your data.
• Erasure — delete your account (and sever your queries) from Your data.
• Rectification — update your password in Settings; email us for other changes.

For anything else, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy; material changes will be noted on the changelog.
